Most of us had fire drills in school, and anyone who has flown knows what to do if the plane falls into the ocean, but those aren't the only dangerous situations we should know how to navigate.

In the interest of being prepared, Scrotumbrella asked Reddit, "What unlikely scenarios should people learn how to deal with correctly, just in case they have to one day?"

Here are a few of the most common (well, least uncommon) scenarios people brought up, and some fact-checked advice on how to stay safe:

1. Rip currents

3. Predators

It may seem like we have every other species under control, but don't be fooled: Humans aren't at the top of the food chain, according to Forbes

If you come across a bear or another animal that may view you as lunch, don't run, said Redditor Nerdn1.

FOOD runs. Try to look big and back away slowly. You don't want the predator to think that you're food. Unless the animal is starving, it will probably be cautious around something that postures like this. Instinct reasons that if you aren't running it must mean that you think you don't have to, and if that's the case, maybe you're right!

The National Park Service recommends making noise to scare the bear away, and uniting with other people to seem more intimidating.

4. Kidnappings
